Re: How can I force HTC Album to rescan?
I just did this a couple of hours ago. I found the answer on XDA:

AudioManager_Eng.vol sounds like it would control the music library. I think computerpro3 was asking about the photo albums. However, I have been looking for something on the music bc the genre information does not matchup on all the song's genre in wmp.

Re: How can I force HTC Album to rescan?
Oops, I completely misread that. My bad.
![]() If that soft reset didn't work for you...look one folder up in that HTC directory. You'll see an "HTC Album" folder that is a couple of cache files in it. I'm not sure which one controls the list specifically. I renamed the whole folder and HTC Album rescanned all my photos. The previews didn't return in TouchFlo until a soft reset. |

I tried this and it rescanned my photos, but it doesn't delete the old albums...what the heck...

Re: How can I force HTC Album to rescan?
Are you sure the folders in question are empty? Do they exist elsewhere on your device or storage card? Remember, it scans for pictures everywhere.
On mine, the folders appear/disappear as soon as I create/delete them. In fact, I removed only the pictures from a folder and left the album.cache file. It still removed it from the albums list. Try creating a new folder, copy a picture or two into it and see if it appears in the list. If so, remove the folder and see if it leaves the list. If this works, the other folders in question probably exist somewhere on your device or storage card. If it doesn't, you have something else interfering with Album. If you can't get it, you can always tell Album to ignore the folders. Follow these instructions on XDA and they will disappear. I didn't even have to reset my phone. |
