cannot delete email account

help!! the "delete" soft key is greyed out when trying to delete my hotmail account. all i really want to do to this account tho is update it with the new password, not delete the account all together, so i thought of deleting the account and creating anew with the new password. any help???

This procedure does not work with a hotmail account. Does anyone know how to remove a hotmail account?

Yes, Hotmail/Live is a pain. I had to google and finally found a thread from another site from 2007. Luckily the instructions worked perfectly.

1. Click start, then open up Windows Live
2. Click Menu, Account options
3. Choose switch account

This will tell you it's going to remove all emails, and essentially delete the account. At the end, it will re-start the mail creation process. If you're putting in a new account, go ahead and set it up like before. If not, click reject and you're done. HTH.

the only way i was able to change my password was to:

>Launch windows live app >Menu >Account options >Clear password.

this will ask you if you want to really clear it. click OK. then go back to windows live and try to sign-in. it will prompt you to enter password....check remember me box....and voila!!...you've changed your password.
