with my tp and the manila that it has i never had to do this, but i heard that you really need to do this with 2.1 or it will mess stuff up pretty bad.

I do not have an answer for you there. I read it on the XDA page where I dl'd it from. I actually forgot when I installed and it worked fine for me. oops. I installed a clock once my TP once w/o turning off TF and it went haywire...started beeping and smoking....had to hard reset.
