Got mine on an old 'fair and flexible' family plan. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only requirement is to have some sort of data plan.

If a data plan isn't required, it should be. Without data, there is so much the TP2 or any similar device wont be able to do, its basically crippled. Anyone not wanting to get a data plan should rethink the type of handset they're getting if they're considering something like the TP2.
