Nope. Clipping that blue wire does no negative effects to the adapter. You dont have to buy no other cables! Save your money! If you have the free little headphone adapter that come with your phone, you dont have to buy a single thing! Crack it open, clip the blue wire and you saved yourself 20 bucks.

When you are using the modified dongle (either by clipping the blue wire, or removing pin 4), you are still able to plug in both the TV out cord as well as another USB for charging/syncing. Also, once you plug in your adapter the device goes into "TV OUT" mode.

Re: TV Out Registry Hack

Is this supposed to be a mod of some sorts? My HTC TV out cable works just fine - audio & video. Am I missing something?

Oh, I see. Yea, the OEM ones are nice. I got them a year ago for the TP1, and still work great. There's even a spot to charge the phone too.

Re: TV Out Registry Hack

Whats the best TV OUT cable solution if you don't have any original Touch Pro accessories? $30 seems a little steep ...

Usually I stick to monoprice.com - but this doesn't look like its an option.

Re: TV Out Registry Hack

You can try ebay. I seen a post somewhere on this forum where some folks picked up a cable on ebay pretty cheap. Some things to look for would be if it has a charging jack input on it, that really comes in handy.

Re: TV Out Registry Hack

Ouch. Would be hard to beat 3 bucks but heres one that looks good, and its from a US based seller for 16 bucks shipped. Not a bad price honestly.

http://cgi.ebay.com/VIDEO-TV-OUT-CAB...item56379eb047

It also has a jack for charging as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. The guy has alot of feedback too, so it should be safe.
