3.5mm jack not working.

Interestingly enough, my 3.5mm headphones jack isn't working.

I have tried plugging it in while music is playing via S2P and Windows Media Player, and when music isn't playing, both of which does nothing and sound continues playing through the speaker. I wonder if the "loud speaker" hack broke the 3.5mm jack?

This leads me to believe one of the following:
-It is controlled by software (or Windows Mobile) and a setting I unknowingly changed or registry entry I deleted caused it to stop working.
-I have a defective phone.

I haven't tried hard resetting yet, because I have done so much already to my phone and it is kind of a pain in the ***. However, If I can't figure it out, it looks like a hard reset is what I will be doing to see if that remedies the problem. Although it isn't that big of a deal because I have bluetooth headphones (which work fine), it would suck to know I have a defective phone considering I thought mine was perfect (no dead pixels, or build quality issues). That and using the 3.5mm jack for external speakers or in a car would be nice.

Anybody else experiencing this problem?

Mine works, but I don't think I ran the Audiopara thing. However, it was ver low going into the Aux jack on my car, but then I ran Audio Booster which came with the Sprint Version, and it got a little better.

Re: 3.5mm jack not working.

Mine works great. Before I called Sprint to get a replacement though, I would do a hard reset just to be sure. What do you have on your phone that you think may have had an effect on this?

Edit: You do have it plugged in ALL the way right? I no mine went in almost all the way and I though it was in, but it wasnt working, so I shoved it in further and it worked. slide right in and worked fine ever since

Well, unless the software also plays a role in the jack working properly or not, it could be the "loud speaker" hack that I did, or any number of registry edits/deletes...

After the hard-reset, just work forward through the backups you made until it reappears, then hard-reset again, and use the last backup that didn't have the issue

Re: 3.5mm jack not working.

I have the same problem....even stranger, it died while I was using it....after about 45 minutes of music, it suddenly died and now completely dead...returning it to Sprint in the next couple days...I hope this isn't a common design defect on this model

Re: 3.5mm jack not working.

mine works great, although i havent been using it much. I tried when i got it and probably 10 timmes since then.

i remember one of my old ipods jack malfunctioned and stopped working... i stuck the headphone in a little and shook it around a little and it worked flawlesslyl after that. maybe this is the problem ur having? i'd return it even if it comes back.. never know when it'll fail down the road.
