Verizon TP2 hard reset SOLVED

FOR VERIZON TP2 ONLY (Sprint & GSM have different settings)

Soft reset
Code:
Hold down the end key till the device powers off, then hit the end key to start
your phone. You can also hit the reset button under the battery cover.

Hard reset

Code:
Hold down the end key till the device powers off, then hold volume down, send
and end till you see blue text on a white background. Follow hard reset prompts.

Security

Code:
Hold down the end key till the device powers off, hold vol down and end to get
to security(rainbow screen).

What about on a phone that is stuck at the Password screen like mine? it became non-responsive earlier today just after Christmas dinner, and first said my password was incorrect and now won't even respond to keys or gestures of any kind.

I tried the call/end/sleep button mix, the end/volume down mix, and everything else I could think of - nothing is happening, and I already did multiple soft resets by taking out the battery... THANKS SO MUCH for any help!

Re: TP2 hard reset

Except your post doesn't make sense nor work. The end and power key are the same.

Regardless I figured it out and the correct way is in post #1.

The reset button is for soft resetting your phone. Basically, restarting it. Would be the same as holding the power button for 5 sec to turn off the device.

Actually, you fail. On the Verizon TP2, like the thread title suggests, the end key is the power key. On the Sprint phone, and I'm assuming the others, there is a separate power key which is the sleep button on the Verizon model.

Re: Verizon TP2 hard reset SOLVED

Does the SPRINT TP2 have a separate power button than the END key?

EDIT:
Hey imnuts, you posted while I was typing.
Thanks for the clarification..

I'm fairly certain that Sprint's model has the power button on the top of the device, where the sleep button is on the VZW model.

Which is odd because that is how the Verizon TP1 was, pwr on and sleep was the top button.

Took me a min to figure out the end key turned on my Verizon TP2 at first.

I think when I need to soft reset ill just hold down the end key till device powers off.

Hopefully this topic will be easily searched in the future as this functions seem to vary phone by phone and are frustrating.

when holding the end key down to "soft reset" does it go thru the loading process when you turn the device back on? i know i can press and hold my end key and it will turn off the phone's radio and put it in airplane mode but it doesnt reset the entire device.
