Re: Remove camera shot sound

Open the camera... click the tab with the rectangle and an arrow... it will expand the options... click on the gear for settings... click the gear in the middle that says advanced.... you should see on page 3/5 of the options ( change pages in the bottom left... ) the shutter sound on / off option

On my Sprint TP2 it's on page 3/5, so you may have to find the registry key to edit or someone that has made a cab

Re: Remove camera shot sound

I can confirm that there is NO shutter sound option on the telus touch pro 2. This has actually been brought up before.

As far as I know there is no work-around for it yet. The sound appears to be built into the camera app so deleting or changing the sound file is not an option, nor is a registry edit going to help.

Us Telus users will just have to suck it up and deal with the shutter sound until we are able to flash 3rd party roms!

Hope that helps.

Re: Remove camera shot sound

Telus ROM doesn't include the options so we'll have to wait for a ROM and a HSPL (first of course) or maybe someone could forward the camera app from sprint?

I just messed around with this for the last couple of hours. He's right the shuttersound.wav fiel is protected from being deleted or modified.

BUT I think if you change

HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Common\SourceOfSnapSound

edit the value and delete "\windows\" so it just says "ShutterSound.wav"

and then put a blank wav. in your root file and rename it ShutterSound.wav", it will play that blank file (or whatever wav you want), but there are still two other sounds.

There is the focus lens sound, two beeps, then the shutter sound. Which I have no idea where those would be in the registry.
