I just messed around with this for the last couple of hours. He's right the shuttersound.wav fiel is protected from being deleted or modified.

BUT I think if you change

HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Common\SourceOfSnapSound

edit the value and delete "\windows\" so it just says "ShutterSound.wav"

and then put a blank wav. in your root file and rename it ShutterSound.wav", it will play that blank file (or whatever wav you want), but there are still two other sounds.

There is the focus lens sound, two beeps, then the shutter sound. Which I have no idea where those would be in the registry.
