No it is SIM specific and you can only get 1 code every 10 months on a single line. The # for VZW Global Services is 1-800-711-8300. I told him that I was getting ready to travel and wanted to be able to use 3rd party SIM cards. No problems whatsoever.

No the subsidy unlock code is unique to each phone. It's calculated based on the IMEI code, on the sticker on the back of your phone.

I know your phones come "unlocked", but are you guys only allowed to use Sprints SIM card or can you pop in a 3rd party companies card?

Oh it says it's unlocked but here's the deal. It simply refuses to go on ANY US-GSM networks. Doesn't matter if it's an AT&T SIM, an US T-Mo EVEN AN European T-Mo and prepaid SIM, as long as that signal goes onto the US GSM-towers, the Sprint TP2 will simply say no service (refuses).

So this means we should be able to use a prepaid sim or something with it right? Like say you run out of minutes with verizon, you just use a prepaid card from Att or something? It would be a lot cheaper if you ever get close on your minutes.

You can do it. Just edit your first post and then click the go advanced button. Then you can edit the title.

I'm sorry but can someone please explain why this is such a big deal. Why would you want to use European Sim on US carriers? You would be paying high international rates using a European sim here. I can understand why you would want to use a 3rd party sim elsewhere in the world but unless it works for us sim card i just don't see why the sprint users are so upset.

Please bear with me, I'm trying to wrap my head around all this. So if i bought this prepaid sim card from Tmobile...

...as well as did the necessary unlocking on the TP2, I could roam on tmobile if I wanted to? Would I still be using my verizon phone number, or would it be necessary to get another phone number with a GSM provider?
