I have no idea how Sprint discounts my TEP 15% (since I have the 15% loyalty discount), yet they do. It's right there on my bill every month. Also, I already put that the "calls to any 3 numbers" on my SERO had been changed to "calls to any mobile" on the EP Data plan.
did u look at the link... mines a sprint link... your is some weird link... my link is sprints offical page... its says 69.99 right on it... this plan is not a new version of sero.. and were talkin about normal/non sero discounted rate plans... this is a plan anyone can have..

sprint doesnt discount your TEP, look at your bill... i get 27% off for corp discount, and TEP and Roadside are not discounted... call sprint, theyll tell you there no way they can credit TEP charges... you discounts come off your rate plan and sprint addons(txt, data, mms) ONLY... its not a discount on your entire bill... taxes, TEP, roadside assistance are the only thing sprint CANT discount you on...

certainly not trying to fight here, just trying to get the right info out for everyone in here is all

I took a snapshot of this month's bill - Look on it just under "Total Equipment Protection". What do you see? (Image should load under this text, click on it for a larger version.)

Next: the page I linked to is a blog by someone who works for Sprint management. In it, he gives his Sprint email address and the last 3 digits of his employee ID. He then directs you to take those items to a sprint.com page HERE. If you'll hover your mouse over the link, it will appear in the status bar at the bottom of this page. Note that it is a sprint web-page. On that page, after entering his email address and last 3 digits of his employee ID, click 'Shop Now'. On the next page, click 'Plans' then 'Individual Plans'. Scroll down to "Everything Plus™ Data" and look at the prices underneath it.

As far as I'm concerned, call quality from one carrier to the next is going to be based off of where you live. For me, Verizon is the best in my area. For others, Sprint is better in their areas. It isnt fair to say that one carrier has better signal quality than the other...its all about what works best for you and your location

Ditto...Everyone should understand this. I was with Sprint for 1 year in Massachusetts. Terrible reception where I lived and worked. Switched to Verizon for 7 years and was very happy. Wanted year round internet but didn't want to pay $44/month so I switched to Sprint again after finding out that their reception was better at my job here in Arizona and I could get $10/month internet (I get no reception at all with Verizon at work). If I move again I will compare all the carriers and decide again which is better for me be it Verizon, Sprint, AT&T or whoever.

I agree. Every carrer has dead spots. Some have larger ones than others. As an example, my Sprint TP2 gets full bars in my apt, only losing maybe 1 as I move from room to room. People in my building with MetroPCS get no service. At the gym, I get full bars, whereas the folks with iPhones get no service. (I then use my phone with WMWiFiRouter to help them out.)

Regardless of who has the best plans or customer service, a high tech phone and cheap plan do you no good if you can't make use of them.

well, i can admit when im wrong, especially sinc eyou have a screenshot... maybe theyll do it somehow for u sero folks, but not the rest.. like i said i have 27% corp discount and it doesnt apply to TEP... if u call and ask sprint, say nothing about sero, theyll tell u they cant discount TEP
and as far as the link, you even said thats with what sero does(minus' 10bucks, adds 50more minutes)... my link is what the "normal guy" gets offered, again no TEP included in it

great point by the way!!!! **edit** and i do agree overall with you on the topic... aside from 1 plan that VZW offers that compares to sprints Newest plan, even SERO aside, sprint is still better rate wise

I know that Sprint cannot normally discount TEP. How mine ended up discounted along with everything else is anyone's guess. Technically, I shouldn't have ANY discounts of any kind on my account, since SERO is already dirt cheap. Regardless of that, I'm not about to point that fact out to Sprint.

My point is that the email address and last 3 digits of an employee ID were intentionally posted by a member of management at Sprint to encourage people to sign up for the discounted plans. Like the old SERO, they're an open secret. Anyone who cares enough to get the discount and extra minutes will spend 30 seconds googling it.

TEP is of course not included. I added the $7 TEP to the 59.99 rate and posted the total.

Thank you.

EDIT: 8notime, thanks for the chart. As far as reliability goes, AT&T is dead last in every city, and Sprint wins - By a very slim margin - Compared to Verizon. Speed-wise, I've never felt that it was particularly slow. A lot of the time, our phones are the bottlenecks, due to limited processing capabilities. I regularly tether and get speed consistent with a mid-range DSL line 99% of the time. Of course, I'm in San Francisco where they got the top marks for speed.

+2 Exactly!
Verizon reception where I live and work is great, Sprint, ATT etc, is terrible. If Sprint was great and Verizon bad I would switch to Sprint.

This topic is a complete waste of time. I cannot understand this phone carrier fanboyism at all.

I would not switch to Sprint even if it were free simply because my phone would be almost useless. The money is irrelevant without good reception. If Sprint reception is great where you use your phone and you can save some money that's cool too.

Re: Sprint/VZW Price Comparison (AKA Why is VZW's TP2 so much cheaper?)

Not sure how you got this, but I pay 102 a month for 700 anytime minutes two lines and data. Not to mention the FAR superior service and customer service. You would think both being CDMA they would have equivalent service, but I have found that not to be the case. I had Sprint/nextel for 3 years, and have been with Verizon for 3 years since then, and wouldn't trade anything to go back to sprint. Oh, I also have insurance on one phone.
