Can someone explain to me how skype texting works? A friend of mine said you can text on skype to anyone who has skype. Is it free to text on skype to someone with Skype internationally? For example USA to Europe. I dont want to use it for phone calls at all, just texts. Also I read somewhere it's always on, so if someone calls me does it go through skype or my regular carrier? Thanks for the info

Well, basically both parties have to have the skype software installed and running and have a data connection.
Then you can send messages rather than speaking via the data connection.

Yes, it's free and the function it's labeled as "Chats" on Skype. (Of course, you do need to have data plan with your wireless carrier to use Skype on your TP2.)

Just so you know, there is a true SMS option available as well on skype, but that is not free.

On the phone tab, click the cellphone like icon to the left of the "Call" button
