TP2 Revolt against Sprint!

well, i'm not buying, but it has nothing to do with the price.. it's mearly a replacement for the poorly designed tp (heat venting onto the battery is a great idea..lol) be thankful it's acutally upgraded in a few areas, camera speaker..

yes, lots of competition, just not much with cdma and samdung is all buddied up with verizon. I actually like samsung, but their phones have been disappointing the last several years, but i've never actually touched an omnia.

the carrier doesn't really care how many they will sell, all they care about is the number of subscribers. the different phones are there to have an option for everyone.
it's kinda like cars, their always making new models, just sometimes they happen to be revoutionary.

i rather buy the hero @ 179.99 than to uopgrade from my tp to a tp2 for 350

I made the call at 5A Paradise Standard Time and was told next week. Called back, got The Philippines and made the order.

There has been a revolt on this crippled device since the announcement of the hardware specs my friend. I wont be upgrading I will stick with my tp until a real upgrade is out for my tp.

I hear ppl paying almost 500 dollars to upgrade!? For me that means that 500 dollars buys me .8 inches on my screen, bigger keyboard, and a tilting screen! No thanks! Good luck with that bro!!!!

lol this thread is funny. I can't wait until i have my touch pro 2 in my hands and stuff like this just make me want it even more. These boards will be full of touch pro 2 threads within the next couple of days. So if you don't like the touch pro 2 you might want to take a break from the site for a while lol

The only thing I hate on the tp2 is no flash!! It's hard for me to let that go since I use it all the time!

Ok for those of you that are outraged by the pricing of the Touch Pro 2 on Sprint:

A little perspective here.

TELUS - 2 Year Contract pricing, since that's what you USA types get:

HTC Touch Pro 2: $549.99
HTC Touch Pro (7279): $549.99 <-- Yes, that's the same #@#@n price.
Blackberry Tour 9630: $499.99
Blackberry Storm 9530: $499.99
Samsung Omnia i910: $449.99
Palm Treo Pro: $399.99
HTC Touch: $399.99

So at $449.00, on a two year contract you're still WAY ahead of us Telus users. Particularly when our dollar creeps up near par, like it's ben doing lately.

The TP2 is $649 non contract, while the Storm/Tour are $599.99 non contract here. Boycott Sprint all you like.... now don't get me started on the data plan pricing down there versus what happens in Canada if you actually turn ON your phone.

The Rogers iPhone 3GS (16GB) is $199.99 on a *mandatory* 3 year contract. My Touch Pro 2, with a removable battery and a 16GB MicroSD card cost me $249 on my 3 year plan with Telus, and about $45 for the SD card.

Hardly what I would call getting raped for the device. Boycotting Sprint will simply mean they sell to others. Around here the average Telus store is backordered for about 2 weeks on the TP2
