Re: TP2 Revolt against Sprint!

first, everyone needs to stop crying over the price.... get over it already.... you had to expect the price would be higher than the original TPs price of 299...

second, you cant get people to not get gas, to help set the gas price right when it was over 4bucks...and that was a worthwhile, worldwide cause...

last, sprint doesnt give a crap even if you got 20,000 sprint users from here to agree.... people fail to realize, those of us on here(sites like PPCG,XDA,etc,) make up a SIGNIFICANTLY small amount of their actual consumer base...

Sprint doesnt care about the price because someway, somehow, 70%(if not higher) of the the people who wanted the device, will figure it out one way or another how to get their hands on one .....

I'm all for this, but I think it will be a big seller for Sprint.

Cool Re: TP2 Revolt against Sprint!

Has anyone tried calling Sprint and get a price match? I got the same price of a Motorola Q back when the 6700 came out. Then when the joystick finally broke insurance gave me a Mogul. Technically I've been out of contract for over a year now and I'm paying over $170 for service on two phones. I don't even have unlimited texting with that price either...

There's no way in hell, I'm paying $350 for a phone that isn't at it's full potential. I look at it this way, I'm paying AT&T prices and surprisingly getting less service from Sprint. When this phone comes out I'm shooting for $99 through retentions and I still want unlimited text for the price I'm paying. I may go as high as $199 since that's about the price of an iPhone, but failure to budge on Sprint's part, I just move on to AT&T and get an iPhone. Both phones have their advantages and disadvantages, jailbreaking makes everything sweeter.

While I agree we shouldn't gave HTC a hard earn dime for screwing us with the drivers, what real competition do they have right now? When the snapdragon and tegra versions come out then you can vote with your wallets, but by then Qualcomm will probably be giving away the drivers for free when their bottom line is hopefully crushed by competition.

If you want a new toy now, you'll just have to suck it up this year, and by next year hope for change. That and if XDA comes up with some 2d drivers to match the 3d ones floating around should make me feel less guilty with this purchase...

Re: TP2 Revolt against Sprint!

Why does the Tp2 have to cost more then the TP as someone stated? I think they charge more just so they can lower the price later. What would sell more units the TP2 at $200 consitently for 2 years or the Tp2 at $300 for the first 6 months then a $50 drop and in another 6 months another $50 drop? Then once the new unit comes in another $50 drop to move out all the units. Probably more units and more profit.

he is right, and charging $450 or $550 or some outrageous price is definitely within their rights but then they will just lose more customers. if people are willing to pay $350 then why wouldn't they charge that? As you can tell by this thread most people don't care about paying an extra $50 for a tp2, but if it went from $350 to $450 then obviously their losing that many more customers. $350 is reasonable but $450 isn't. if they charged $450 and that was too much for me, i wouldn't start a revolt, i would just buy my phone somewhere else.

Hi. Actually even with SERO you can get the discount. You just have to get the right agent.

Re: TP2 Revolt against Sprint!

This is a phone marketed toward business users that need service here in the USA and in Europe.

That means price is last on the list of concerns of the persons most likely to be purchasing this phone.

How many businesses have already paid for these phones for their employees? I bet plenty. We forget about the business market vs the consumer market. Businesses always pay too much for what they get.
