You and I have had polar opposite experiences dude. The TP2 feels like a completely different phone - almost everything is faster and more responsive.

You seem very passionate about your cause but I'm really doubting your story...

For those of you who are wondering about battery performance - that has also been improved quite nicely. I'm a heavy user (data especially) and can go without charging for 2 days. I could never do that with my TP1!
2 days!? I wonder if that is based on the telus radio
I've noticed a telus radio has a large difference for battery in the tpro 1. I can't wait to finally test this though

Re: How is the TP2 faster that the TP?

Yeah... 2 days! It's quite nice. A couple of notes however: I don't use my phone for voice much (maybe 20 min day on average) but I do use it heavily during the day for texting and data-related stuff (browsing, twitter, email set to check/download every 10 min, etc) and it's more-often-than-not connected via bluetooth to my laptop during my workday.

Something else to note: the phone does NOT heat up during a call. My TouchPro used to get very hot during even a short call (a good indication that a whole lot of power is being used at an alarming rate). In fact, even just some moderate web browsing would get it warm. Not the case with the TouchPro2, which is probably why it lasts so much longer. I had a 30min. conversation yesterday (via speakerphone ) and the device was still cool!

Given its huge display, this wasn't what I was expecting but it's a nice surprise to have a smartphone that's capable of decent battery life. Of course, your mileage will vary depending on what you're doing and how you have it set up, but this has been my experience (also remember that you have to charge/drain a Li-Ion battery a few times before it reaches its maximum performance - you'll notice this too).

I'm really not trying to be optimistic about this phone. Every smartphone has its weaknesses after all (I've had so many of 'em)... but this one is just hard to fault.

A little off topic, but semi related to the heat thing...Has anyone tried to use phone as modem via wifi while charging the phone? does it overheat?

To me it seems like the Pro 2 is actually the Pro 1 with a bigger screen and a optimized TF3d. And ofcourse the bugs fixed like the overheating problem and dying KB.Am i some what correct?

Re: How is the TP2 faster that the TP?

that seems about right, hopefully the increased power is more then enough to make up for the much higher res. I have a laptop with a 9600GT and 1440x??? lcd and a desktop with a 9800GTX and 1680x1050 lcd and they run games somewhat close to the same speed because of the increased res on the desktop.

yup, but I believe those to be layout/design related so the short-lived tp and the lackluster tp2 make perfect sense.
bring on the tegra or whatever..

Re: How is the TP2 faster that the TP?

I tested the TMobile TP2 the other day. It's a little faster but not worlds apart from the TP.

SPB Benchmark

Can someone try doing benchmark testing with SPB Benchmark once you have a Sprint Touch Pro 2 to test with? If you go to the download link on that page, you can get a free copy for "personal" use.

Here are the results when I ran SPB Benchmark on my (stock) Sprint Touch Pro. I really would like to know how the Sprint Touch Pro 2 compares.

Here are SPB Benchmark results of the Tmobile Touch Pro 2.

I think this post may have some old results from maybe a GSM Touch Pro 2.

Seems there are reports of the same old heat issues popping up.
