Re: Speaker volume (quiet then loud)

I am pretty sure this volume issue has an easy fix by hacking the registry
In HKEY_CURRENT_USER>ControlPanel>SoundCategories there are entries for "Attenuation", "InCall...", "Ring", etc.
In HKEY_CURRENT_USER>ControlPanel>Sounds there could be something..
In HKEY_CURRENT_USER>ControlPanel>Volume there are a few possibilities too.
I hope someone who knows the registry settings will share. I had a similar problem on my last phone (Samsung Omnia) and it was a simple fix changing one value in the registry.

Just an idea!

i looked around through:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER>ControlPanel>SoundCategories
and sure enough if you look in the sub folders, you'll notice some have "InitVol" set to anywhere from 1-5. It changes when going through folders.

maybe its "initial volume"? i do not know enough about reg to try this, nor do i wanna blow out my speaker, but under my "Ring" folder the InitVol is set to 3. Maybe changing it to the max, 5, would fix the problem for the ringtone. sound logical? i'd do it, but like i said, don't wanna f somethin up...

Re: Speaker volume (quiet then loud)

InitVol is linked to the actual volume setting, in increments of 20% therefore 0-5 in the reg, damn.

Re: Speaker volume (quiet then loud)

Hmm is it just "us" experiencing this?
Not many people seem to reply to this thread.

Maybe they just don't care? Or they don't have it?

Re: Speaker volume (quiet then loud)

I think I may do a hard reset and see if that fixes it. If it does I will post back. I have so many cabs installed that I couldn't even list them.

Re: Speaker volume (quiet then loud)

Count me in with this issue, too. It really does sound like a soft start volume thing. My home theater does the same thing. Had to choose different alerts because I kept missing my preferred ones.

Re: Speaker volume (quiet then loud)

That sucks, so much for it being related to a cab.
