Re: Anybody try Slingplayer yet?

I called sling and of course the guy who speaks hardly any english again knew nothing.

Has anyone tried any different ones to get a larger screen? i mean with all the major company's getting the tp2 they should support it if they get enough people asking about it.

Any help thanks in advance.

Re: Anybody try Slingplayer yet?

I been using slingbox alot the last few days, making minor adjustments here or there and for the most part I am relatively happy with my slingbox performance. First I am using the latest version from their website and I also turn off all the optimization stuff. I set my bit rate to 600, video fps to 20 and gdi rendering checked off and for the most part it works great on my end. The only time it starts to mess up is when I have to change the station or basically any input to the cable box really causes things to slow down quite a bit. I would stop it then press play and it smooths out again.

Edit: I also been using this app called gfxboost to help with performance, it seems to make a difference in my opinion, it can be found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509704

I am using the latest trial version right now, we are in a recession so I aint paying $30 for it LOL. As far as screen size when its in portrait it only fills up the top half of the screen which is understandable given the screen ratio but in landscape it fills up the majority of the screen except for black bars on the side kinda like watching a full screen movie on a wide screen tv, but the quality is still pretty decent.

Re: Anybody try Slingplayer yet?

I tried installing slingplayer on verizon TP2, and it's giving me an error message "Slingplayer-mobile-PPC-1.6.0.114-US-Setup is not a valid pocket pc application". Anybody have an idea why this will not install?
