ditto on ditching tomtom for igo8. once you get it working, it's far better.

Hate to bump the thread but am curious if there is any progress on this now that the SPL unlocker has been released? I've been eyeing a CDMA TP2 for a while but the FM Radio (or lack thereof) may be a deal breaker.

Also is anyone willing to explain to me all the key little details of how PPC devices operate and the software and hardware therein? I've been researching as much as I can but cannot get a single clue what the SPL is or does or how it clues in to any of this work here so far. I'm usually very attuned to this stuff but this is one key bit that seems to have zero documentation anywhere outside of people throwing the term around constantly.

I just skimmed this thread a bit... but was it a typo or is there an FM transmitter in the Touch Pro 2s? Also, if this is the case... you're not going to be receiving many stations with an FM transmitter...

It has an FM receiver that is locked or disabled....

there is no fm radio chip in the sprint touch pro/touch pro 2.all im saying is i have fixed both gsm and cdma touch pro`s diamonds` and touch pro 2`s the diamond and gsm touch pros have a fm chip. which i noticed is Motorola chip .the ones with working fm radio had broadcome chips. so to conclude we will never have fm radio. i was thinking about soldering a brodcome chip in place of motorola if somone would let me borro a sprint tp2 and have a broken gms tp i could test it
