Re: VZW TP2 Pics
This is a bit odd.
While trying to not get my hopes up, yet trying to keep myself from dying of boredom, figured I'd scope around the VZW website for the heck of it. (Now, I'm not exactly "accustomed" to the VZW site, or their CSRs, seeing how I was an Alltel customer less than 6 months ago so if I'm mistaken, please correct me.) =P Firstly, I figured I'd tease around with the online CSRs for a bit, since it's "the day before the phone is launched." (Yes, I know they're normally a lost cause, but you don't know until you try.) Started out by asking about the "Rhodium," didn't mention HTC or anything else... they apparently did not know about the phone in question. I then asked about the "HTC Touch Pro 2," and got "Unfortunately, I do not have access to future phone releases." Now, I'm surprised they said this for two reasons: firstly, Verizon hasn't announced the phone officially. Secondly, I'm surprised they even KNOW what the phone is, since most people make it out that service reps don't know about a phone until, or possibly directly before, a phone is released. Next, Verizon has a "Global Ready" option under the phone feature selection thingy. As I said, I'm not totally familiar with the site, so this could've been here for some of the Blackberrys... if it was, please correct me. False hope, I know... but I'm just so sick of waiting. D= |

Re: VZW TP2 Pics
I still can't see them, however when I asked about the empty page and global phones they might have I was replied with "The site is undergoing construction," and "The escapade the HTC and the Blackberry world edition" ...as global phones.
I then asked "Which HTC? I notice you have many." They replied "The pro" and left the chat. ...guess VZW reps don't like annoying customers making them work by asking random questions. =P |

Re: VZW TP2 Pics
What classifies it exactly as Global ready. IMO, global ready means you can throw a sim card in it and it will accept some form of GSM band + the usual CDMA. Does the Saga, etc., have GSM capabilites??

Re: VZW TP2 Pics
That's what I think it means as well. And yes the Saga comes with a SIM card just like the Ozone does. I have no idea why the Touch is listed as Global Ready.

Re: VZW TP2 Pics
I'm going to wait a few minutes and try telesales for the heck of it. I just have no idea how precise VZW is about this kind of stuff or even what time zone they're in, so I might try again in the morning...
Actually, now that I think about it, they're probably not even open. *Googles* |
