That still doesn't give Omnia II folks any clue of a date.

Confirmation or not, I'm still calling Verizon telesales on Thursday, and I'll say something to the effect of "I wanted to order the Touch Pro2, since I saw on the internet that it was coming out today."

I always do that for rumored dates, just to see what kind of reaction I get.

Trust me is isn't coming out the 27th. If it was 2 days away stores would hear something. They would be getting stock in. Someone would have leaked something. Now lets just hope for mid to late September.

Oh, I know it's not likely to be the 27th, but I don't know what stores have to do with it. The TP2 will launch online/telesales about 2 weeks before in-store availability so a store's stock is irrelevant. I can't remember if I posted this in here or HoFo, but when I got my XV6800, I went to the corp store by my house, and asked if they had any vehicle chargers. His response, "what phone is that?" He literally had no clue what I was holding.

When the 6800 first came out (December '07), I called Asurion and said I needed a replacement. Being it was my third 6700, I asked if they could give me the upgrade. She told me to hold on, and came back and said she was shipping out a 6800 to me.

I tried the same thing last month, and said I already had two 6800's, and wanted the Touch Pro. I talked to three people, and while one tried, the final answer was no. I then wrote a nasty e-mail to corporate, stating how I was leaving Asurion because one promised me the Touch Pro, and then said no. The next day the corporate CEO's office called me, and said they were very sorry, blah, blah, blah. The next day, I got the Touch Pro in the mail.

I've done almost the same thing. Bought the 6700 on ebay for about 250 a bit after release. Put insurance on it, and I just find things wrong with the phone I have to get upgraded. I have not payed for a phone since. I think I'm actually going to buy the TP2 though, I want it the moment it is available...

So you ripped them off of a Touch Pro. Good job.

Re: VZW TP2 Pics

I thought the same thing. Yay, you ripped off a company! Now, can I thank you when our equipment protection jumps another $2/month?

Plus, it's funny that you're still going through Assurion. I am on my 3rd XV6800 since the day it was released (the last replacement came last week), and I've never dealt with anyone other than Verizon, and I surely haven't paid any sort of deductible.
