I am a little confused by VZW. I have called *611 many times over the past 3 days and they have all confirmed that they are showing a Sept. 11th release date. They said I would have to wait till then to order it, or hope that a store has it in stock that day.

I also called a corporate store nearby and they said that they didnt know if they would have any in on Friday or not. They do not get to chose how many are sent to them.

I will probably call a few stores on Friday to see if they have any in. If not, then I will call Telesales to order one and just get the fastest shipping possible.

fooooking verizon i swear if they gyp me on this im going to find this Mr. Verizon and kidnap his children along with the Can you hear me now guy and i'll videocast it somehow on a sprint Tp2.

I can tell you that when the Touch Pro first came out, I went to my local Verizon store and they knew nothing about it..So they checked the computer and sure enough they ordered it for me and it came in 2 days. I think ordering the TP2 on Friday will be the same way.

In order to have a prayer of getting it on a Saturday delivery you would have to have the orderin as soon as possible. Thats why i'm considering ordering it online or telesales instead of waisting time looking in the stores after they open. I'm pretty sure if they don't have them by Thursday night they won't have them Friday.

maybe because I have been a member since '07? I dont know...what I do know is this TP2 thing has made crawl out of the wood work because there is finally a phone that looks like its gonna be worth having...in my opinion.

How can a company sell a brand new phone two days from now and not acknowledge publicly through a press release or a commercial, either via network TV or Internet advertising? That's just crazy. If it wasn't for online forums like this how would the general public know it exists?

I don't think vzw is even interested in advertising this device to the general public. It's aimed at tech savvy high end business users, and I'm sure they know that the forums have been buzzing over this device for months, which is probably adverdising enough. For example, yesterday I called my local government sales rep just to try and buy it early. While he acknowledged the TP2 would be available on Friday, he still tried to shove the ozone, omnia, and others down my throat, assuming I wouldn't be interested in the TP2 b/c of its cost. (I probably would have gladly paid more for the device than the $199 touted everywhere.) Either way, on Friday morning I'm going to see what price I can get on-line, with rebates, NE2 and all, then call the rep and see if he can beat that price with additional discounts such as this "customer appreciation" discount I've heard about.
