You know, I could personally care less about the lack of a flash, but I still don't understand why HTC couldn't have incorporated the flash into the mute button. I mean, I don't think that would have been too hard to do.

It would have been a $15.00 monthly flashing fee with new 2yr contract. $30.00 for existing customers.

We're lucky they're not charging for the CAMERA let alone the flash since this phone is supposed to be geared towards business users. We know its not true now, but they couldve made two versions, one w/o camera and one with for $100 more :)

I'm sure they had to make up the cost of the additional GSM radio and larger screen someplace... and the camera and flash were probably high on the list of things to goooo

Oh please. An LED costs like $.02 if that. I wouldn't be surprised if someone solders one in an we see pictures in a month of some guy who connected the couple dead terminals and now has a working light. Also the 6600 and 6700 were release w/ and w/o cameras, and were the exact same pricing.

I really wanted to include a link to the guy who ripped open the back of his TP to solder on a CompactFlash or full-sized SD... I guess he was unhappy the back of the phone was attractive so why not just kill the thing (and any pocket you plan to put the phone into).

Anyone have a link to that? I search everywhere and could not find...

I used my flash all the time in the backyard at night. Now I have to get a real flashlight. :(

So... I am really curious about something. I've searched these boards so apologies if this is a repeat question..

This thing has both CDMA and GSM radios in it, since it is a world phone. But how exactly do the two radios work in tandem? Will it have access to GSM networks in the US, or is it only for when traveling overseas?

Also, a big shortcoming of CDMA has always been that you can't use 1x/Ev data and voice at the same time... is it now possible to use one radio for data and the other for voice? In my mind, that would totally obliterate any urge for me to move to GSM networks.. I use my phone for work and I love Verizon's coverage but at the same time, if I need to tether my phone I can't take calls, which is rather inconvenient.

How about if you are in an area where CDMA signal is weak but GSM is stronger.. will it use that?

I'm sure that in actuality the two radios won't work this seamlessly, but wouldn't it be great? Best of both worlds there..
