Show me a screenshot of a TP2 stating 288, and I'll care about "your book".

Your phone shows 288, but what do you think is processing your video? Roughly, 32 megs.
If you think that is incorrect, then you tell me what else is processing your video? The processor? :headbang:

I thought that there were no drivers available to use hardware video processing/acceleration, so technically yes, the processor is rendering the video.

Wishful thinking but the hardware screen doesn't lie. If it says Ram 256 it is 256. no hidden agendas there. Just like if the processor is a Qualcomm 7600 it isn't a 7500. 256 is 256 no more no less that is the whole purpose of the device info hardware screen. But if you want we can pretend that the shinny new touch pro 2 has 450 megs of ram but they listed only 256 of it. lol

+2 to keegan
and actually 256 > 192 mb
and verizon hopefully learned its lesson and doesn't cheapen the display like the original touch pro
if you compare the screen resolution to a sprint model, verizon's looks washed out and cheap

I just read about T-Mobiles Touch Pro 2 that came out today and it has 288mb RAM. I also couldnt tell if the screen shot of the listed RAM was the actual phone, or the specs listed on a computer for the phone.

Either way 256 is DEF better than my wimpy 192 on the TP1. So either way I will be happy, but I sure am hoping for 288 :)

I AM SO EXCITED!

Guess what on Verizon's touch pro it has it shows 192 and you will never guess this but it has 192. Why cant people comprehend this??
My original point is why they feel compelled to reduce hardware. they gave us 192 on the first one so we would cheer when they only stripped 32 from the tp2. it seemed to have worked. People are coming to except that losing 32 megs is ok. I bet verizon will strip other features as well. I have too may years with Verizon and know how they operate.

Hey genius, we're comparing the Verizon TP2 to other carrier's TP2's, so until you can show me a screenshot of another carrier's TP2 showing 288 in the device info screen, then your arguement is irrelevant.

If they all show 256, then obviously Verizon's isn't crippled, gimped, or anything else.

Here's one from the unlocked GSM version: http://ai.rs/wp-content/uploads//200..._capture29.jpg

It might be that the device isn't reporting it correctly. They actually had an update to the GSM version to fix this: http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownloa...at=2&dl_id=629
