We've (in this forum, over at HoFo, etc) heard two possible dates for Verizon's TP2: August 27th or September 1st. I thought the 27th sounded plausible given Sprint's August 3rd date, but now that Sprint's date looks to be September 8th, the 1st now sounds plausible too. The only reasoning behind this is the fact that Verizon was originally slated to release the Tour about a week before Sprint. This is also the reason why the TP2 date seems to be so under wraps. It wasn't until Verizon's Tour date was leaked, when Sprint moved their date up to match Verizon. I'm sure the folks with Verizon were thrilled about that little scenario.

Anyway, it's purely guess work at this point, although the person that gave the 8/27 date has also given other reliable info on this device and others in the past.

In my case, I'm seriously good with any date on or before 9/15. I really want to be able to play with this thing during my plane trip on 9/17. 8/27 would be optimal though, since then I'll also have it for a trip at the end of this month.

No Stock available in the warehouse for Verizon South, but it finally showed up on the stock list this morning (with a qty of 0). That usually means about two weeks from launch.

I would not be surprised if this device launched for business customers only first, and then in retail 2 weeks later (like the Ozone did).

What specifies you as a business customer? I get reimbursed for my phone bill through work but my company doesn't have an actual account I don't think. If I'm not a business customer, would there be a way I could snag one through tele-sales once it is available to business customers?

Well, usually business releases are simultaneous with telesales launches, so you shouldn't have trouble. I never have. I do have a business account, but it's only one line, so in Verizon's eyes it doesn't count for any more than a personal account.

Im sorry, I was trying to rush and type on my phone at the same time. they have a lot of the tps in stock and they are being retarded on the release date of the tp2. I apologize for the false hype.
