Re: Touch Pro 2 Tweaks, Hacks, Tips & Modifications

Searched but didn't find anything on this.

Anyone know how to disable portrait mode and stay only on landscape mode? Or at least disable reverting back to portrait mode after the physical keyboard is closed?

I have the rotate screen cab, not don't want to press it every time. Thanks.

In "FlipIt", you can tell it to only enable a certain rotation. You can have it any orientation and it will completely ignore the tilt sensor.

Re: Touch Pro 2 Tweaks, Hacks, Tips & Modifications

I used to download "sprint_tp2_tweaks" cab for my sprint TP2. I wanted to use the latest Energy rom version without installing it to see if its less glitchy.
The only thing I'd like to tweak is to double the reply space in the windows sms/mms threaded texts. Is there a cab for that? Or a simple registry re-write/tweak?
I apologize for not yet learning how to do my own registry tweaks. That's something thats still foreign to me. I still haven't attempted backing up my settings & installed cabs with the XDA_UC\_Mod. Those file paths are intimidating, lol. Thanks in advance. Ill continue to look, I just get sucked into the vortex & 2hrs later I know a little about 10 different things but know nothing that can help immediately.

Its pretty easy to do. Here are the steps:

1. copy the file thread_sms.htm from \windows to your pc.
Make sure you set your pc to view hidden files

2. change .htm to .txt extension and open the file.

3. look for <Inbox:content id="COMPOSESUBJECT" width="98%" height=35 within the file and change the height of 35 to what you want. (for example, 70 is twice the height)

4. close the file and change the extension back to .htm

5. copy the edited file back to \windows on your ppc and soft reset.

*To revert back to the original textbox height, just delete thread_sms.htm from \windows. Its in the rom and will regenerate.

TIP: I usually disable manila before cab installs or file editing

Thanks so much! I didnt understand fully at first, but after staring at your instructions, I realized I could finally use Total Commander for something, lol. I dont know if its the correct way, but I just followed the file path to thread_sms.htm using TC, opened it, and edited the height -- I'd already d/l'd the tweaks cab so I reversed the height to confirm that I was doing it right.
I've never "copied" or "edited" a file before so I'm glad your post inspired me to actually use TC. Thanks again.

Re: Touch Pro 2 Tweaks, Hacks, Tips & Modifications

Has anyone found a way to hack Outlook so that it doesn't a ask for you to tap on the screen so that it can download Internet pictures. I hate this shit you freakin have tap like 3 times to view your email. Also the tap to scroll right is getting on my last nerve, I've been up all night for the past week trying different variations of D word entries in the registry with no progress.

its to protect you from Spam and Phishing.... alot of spam is written so that when it gets opened, the origin gets notified, thus knowing its a working/functioning email addy... the result: it sends more spam...

the closet you can come to minimal steps to download an entire email is changing your settings... download size on Max, include attachments(still wont auto load pics), etc....... then you wont have to "download the email" when opening - that saves a steps... all you should have to hit is the download pics part now....

people have been asking this for a few years, not very often, but it does come up... dont think ive seen read a way around this fully..

Re: Touch Pro 2 Tweaks, Hacks, Tips & Modifications

I just got a plantronics voyager pro+ bluetooth headset so I could have something wireless and supports A2DP. The problem is it's not playing custom ringtones. It plays the headset default chime. I found this thread on XDA:

Fix for playing ringtones over bluetooth headset. - xda-developers

It says to change that registry setting or run the cab. The cab says unsuccessful when ran, so I tried a manual edit. I soft reset and the setting reverts from the 1519 preferred setting to 1515. This is a GSM T-Mobile touch Pro 2. ideas?

I was just going to tell you to write a mortscript for it, but I was bored, so here you go.... this should take care of your 1519 staying after reset. Just copy this to your Windows startup.
