Sprint Touch Pro 2 Release Date Sept 6TH Per Sprint Corp

Hmmm... i was doing some searching and I keep finding gsm and European touch pro 2's online and I could be crazy maybe im confusing it with another phone i was reading about but isnt the touch pro 2 supposed to like dual band or something? I dont think im calling it the right thing but isnt it supposed to be able to be used on both gsm and cdma carriers? Like say for instance you had a vzw or sprint one... Wasn't it going to have a sim card slot? Would this allow me to buy one now and activate it on sprints network? or am i confusing it with a different phone?

Nope the European version has dual GSM, and European CDMA which wont work in the US, and i believe over there its called HCDMA or something like that, but the US version should have CDMA and GSM compatibilities, thats at least what i heard.

Although the US version's GSM functions will be deactivated while in the US...

Until the device is released there is no word on if that will be something that can be adjusted in software with hacks.

I, too, have been looking forward to the release of the Touch Pro2. But I do agree that MS and HTC have been very skimpy with respect to upgrades. I think I was moreso in love with the sleek look of the phone, the larger screen and the larger offset keys of the keyboard.

The conference calling feature is also very nice.

But, I think I'm more upset with MS than HTC. They keep tip-toeing on this WinMo 7. It makes it look like they can't keep up with other manufacturers. They really should have released WinMo 7 this year.

Man this really cramps my plans to head back to school with one of these in the fall. Yea right, software glitch... they are probably still playing milk the moo-moo with the Pre. I hope with this wait, they are taking the liberty to add a flash on the back somewhere! I am not really concerned about it shipping w/ WM6.5 or 7 as long as i can bring NFSFAN along for the ride as my aftermarket cook!

For what its worth my Sprint Rep dropped a pic and a message of the TP2 in my lap yesterday. It's in the possession of the tech crew here in SLC, UT so we know at least they're in the wild and being tested; so soon maybe?

If I am laying down 400 for a phone I want a 3.5mm headphone jack. No headphone jack no deal. Why would anyone want to carry a dongle around with them?
