HTC touch pro 2 camera screen focus fades to white?

Hey guys.

I have an HTC Touch Pro 2. I got it because my job has an application that ONLY works with VERY few phones. HTC Touch pro 1 and 2 being half of the phones that work.
While they're working on a druid app...

Until then, HTC tp2 is the only route.

So, this job requires pictures to be taken CONSTANTLY. And this phone does quite the job at this. Only problem is, if I set the phone down in my lap or point it in a dark direction, then lift it back up to take a picture of a street sign (I'm a property inspector), the screen will WHITE OUT, but not like the other people's problems.

I don't want to dive into adjusting settings I know nothing about. As this phone is my life at the moment.

The whiteness will fade, but only after I hold my hand close to it, and slowly pull my hand away as it regains focus.

It's not the same whiteness issues other people are having with rebooting issues (I did searching).

Anyway, lemme know whatcha think!
