Windows Marketplace cannot connect to server

after getting my tp2 setup with a LEAD rom, i cannot access windows marketplace. i get that notorious error "cannon connect to marketplace server, try again in a few hours"

i have found online that changing the Aku to .5.3.00 is supposed to fix it... i did that, but it did not work.

so i proceeded to upgrade the radio on my phone, using the latest sprint radio rom. it helped my reception greatly, which im thrilled about, but marketplace still wont connect.

now im thinking that if the radio upgrade was what was needed, maybe my aku is wrong now? what should my aku value supposed to be?

any help would be GREAT, as i relied heavily on marketplace to get my apps

Re: Windows Marketplace cannot connect to server

yeah thats really the worst part too- you cant access the marketplace via PC anymore, they shut that down.

so if the marketplace app doesnt work on your phone (which is EXTREMELY common), then you have no way to use the service. add that to the fact that MS doesnt allow marketplace to save programs to SD card and you can easily call this an epic failure... there must have been lots of money lost...

ive tried everything. i guess i need to just give up on this and use the forums to browse what apps i want

Jaja nice one @Tinkerbell but yea the marketplace is shut down and has been for about a month now. They've sent emails nonstop to all WM device users since the initial announcement.

Re: Windows Marketplace cannot connect to server

no, i thought they just shut down the pc side of it? i swear i was just using the marketplace on my treo pro like 2 weeks ago. i remember them saying the marketplace will stay active for those who have it on their phones only. and im pretty sure it was working when i first got this tp2 and was using the stock rom....but i cant remember for sure.

I thought this was the My Phone service specifically? I don't believe I ever received an email on Marketplace ever being affected with this. That or maybe I just never received anything from MS.

Only the marketplace via pc was shut down according to the email I got a few weeks ago. Wasn't supposed to be the app, though.
