Re: Who Still Loves Their TP2?

You are absolutely right Gten, however windows platform will benefit, and we may get some better than the existing win7.
I haven't toyed with any of that yet, however i read about the limitations. And we most certainly can use a snappier OS and better apps .
I use netttalk to call back to us and Canada, and that biatch is way smoother on the iPhone, and it is crap on the TP two 5 out of 10 times. I manage with it, but demanding progress is alright

Re: Who Still Loves Their TP2?

I've had my TP2 since 12/09 and have no plans to replace it. It has served me very well on Sprint SERO. I had to replace the first one I got, and unfortunately was a bit careless and dropped the second one so it shows a bit of wear. If it ever dies, I know I'll be tempted by current phones, but there's a good chance I'll look for another TP2 on ebay.

I can't say I love the TP2 -- I'm more sentimental about my Palm 755p. While the TP2 is more powerful and in many ways more functional, I miss the ease of using the 755p. That said, the TP2 has been solid.

About 2 weeks ago, I bought a NOOKcolor and am running CM7 on it from a microSD card. It's my first experience with Android, and I can certainly see the attraction. I might try XDAndroid on my TP2 at some point.

For now, I'm happy tethering the TP2 as needed. I primarily use it for phone calls, texting, RSS feeds, and videos. I do some web browsing with Opera Mini, too.

Re: Who Still Loves Their TP2?

I cant stand my TP2. I hope to upgrade soon. It would be a good phone if the texting wasn't so slow after receiving a lot of texts over time--I have to hard reset my phone once in a while just to get it responding fast again because my texts overload it and deleting them renders the phone useless for an entire day.

Sounds like you should use a 6.1 rom or a Titanium 6.5 rom.

Seriously though, why do you need to keep so many texts. I'll never understand why people do that. Surely you're not exchanging such valueable info that you have to save every word. When I'm done with a conversation it gets deleted. Takes about 3 seconds.

x2

Never really had a problem with that. I probably have a month of texts right now and it's no more sluggish than usual. I say sluggish cause I still have the stock ROM after my replacement since I'm waiting on a response from the hard-spl ticket system

I can't wait to flash it again!

eh..it won't give any benefit to winmo, wp7 is written from scratch as is the windows ce 6.0+ kernel..personally I don't even know why wp7 carriers "windows" in its name..should have been just called the zune phone or zphone...

Its just that wp7 is a phone platform and nothing more...and it does not carry the "pc" concept.

Of course you definitely get more smoother apps, but its aimed at a different ecosystem then winmo was.
