Move files from phone to PC

Before I had a data plan, I would move files from phone to PC by connecting USB and using MS Active Sync.

When I connect phone (HTC TP2) via USB now (it's been a long while). The phone is not browsable.

I launched ActiveSync on PC but that didn't help anything.

I know I could mail the files to myself but that seems stupid.

I can't get the bluetooth to pair between phone & PC. They both see each other. The phone displays the secret code but the laptop says "an error occurred while pairing".

I'll take the quickest, easiest way to move files to/from phone/PC on a regular basis.

Thanks,
kirkee

Re: Move files from phone to PC

Are you trying to get data from the phone internal memory? or the SD card?

In order to browse data on your phone while connected to your pc like that you need to go to open Activesync on your device and put it in disk drive mode. Or put files on your sdcard, remove it from your phone and insert it in an adapter or card reader that will plug into your pc.

what up horny! I just moved some files from my tp2 to the pc, like they said, activesync works wonders! you should have 3 options when you connect, activesync being one of them. If not, go start>settings>all settings>connections, and enable it from there.

I rock the HD7 mostly, but turn to the retired HD2 via the TP2 wifi router .

Re: Move files from phone to PC

I hate to be stupid but I'm looking at the menu options for Active Sync on my phone. And I don't see anything that read like disk drive mode.

1st level menu choices are:
options - choose what to sync (mail, contacts, calendar and/or task)
schedule - configure sync schedule
status - info only
configure server - in my case MS Exchange server
connections - check box for sync with (USB, IR, etc)
connections via bluetooth - opportunity to pair device

So not seeing anything around drives or files

when I connect phone to PC via USB then phone gives me 2 options: Active Sync or Internet Sharing. I'm choosing Active Sync but phone still isn't browsable?!?!?
