Well, I'm worse off not better. my work laptop is XP with ActiveSynch. my home laptop is 64 bit Win 7 with Mobile Device center but it won't even recognize the phone.
At one point in trying to get all this happy, I blew away my phone's relationship to my work Exchange Server (hoping that re-establishing would some how make it all better).
That was a very bad idea!!!
Naturally it blew away my contacts, calendar and e-mail on my phone as expected so that's ok. But when I went back in and told it to sync those 3 items - setting calendar to only retrieve previous 2 wks of appt. then I told it to sync - when it got to 3000 calendar events downloading, I figured it "missed" my request for just 2 wks of appointments.
I blew it away and was very careful to request just the 2 wks on calendar. I'm not that busy of a person - maybe a dozen appts in last 2 wks. tried again - still just kept downloading. I left it plugged in thinking it might just run its course - after 14 hrs, it was still downloading calendar items > 33,000 and growing!
I blew away and just said contacts and e-mail. but still can't get the dumb files off nor put the ones on for work that I want.
Regarding Horndocs advise, on the Active Synch on phone, I did place checkbox on 'sync all PCs using this connector' and have USB selected. But I didn't see any change in the Active Synch options for drive access.
But reality is I'm not synching via USB. I'm synching directly to the work Exchange Server over internet instead of sync-ing to my laptop which was synched to Exchange server.
I do computer things in the automation of manufacturing environment so I'm reasonable techical but this phone is pissing me off! However, one of my work mottos is "
do not let the computer win" - so I will beat this into submission (eventually).
So now my higher priority is getting the calendar to actually sync since that's pretty dog gone important feature for me!
Thanx - kirkee
