Lovin' this new battery

I walked into a VZW store last week to ask if there was an extended battery for the TP2. Checking the "warehouse" the salesperson said there was. A 2100maH battery was available for $10 2 day shipping included. I ordered one. Came two days just as promised. I opened it to find that it was about twice as thick as the original and came with a new plastic back for the phone. My first fear was that it would no longer fit the seidio holster but I was wrong. It fits perfect. My second fear was changing the back cover would impact the conference speaker an mute button but these too work fine. But an unexpected improvement was the way the camera cover is both recessed (so it is better protected) and it is made of some substance which in my case is much clearer making may pictures to come out crystal clear. In fact I was in the market researching a new point and shoot camera and my Iphone toting son saw some of my new pictures from camping this weekend and he encouraged me to forgo the camera for the phone. Lastly, this battery is very powerful. I easily go 2 full days of extended use with brightness now set to full screen.... lovin' it!

Glad it helped out your pics. If I wanted good pics on my TP2 I always popped off the back cover

Re: Lovin' this new battery

yeah about double... but the benefits outweigh (forgive the pun)... after now a week I would update my results to indicate a full day plus of heavy use. But it is great to go into a day with no limitations. Easily worth $10

Re: Lovin' this new battery

yep, just snagged one myself $9.99 on clearance now. awesome deal. you will have to call customer service though because they're not on the website. also, that probably means you need an account to order. the sku is vzw6875batx if that helps.

Re: Lovin' this new battery

I got my friend who is on Verizon to order me one yesterday! I am on Sprint but will be painting the case with "Plasti Dip," a black rubber armor coating that is designed for the handles of tools and such. This will make it match my phone better and also will help to provide protection as my silicone case will no longer fit the battery cover.

This is a new phone for me, replacing an old Nextel i365 that had been through hell. I know that it is at the end of life and could have gotten a much never HTC Evo for $45 more but needed the GSM side for when I deploy.

Re: Lovin' this new battery

Hi I just ordered the $9.99 extendid battery!! heeeeeee
A Sprint rep told me about it, and I remember it posted here.

I called Verizon customer service (888 294-6804), and told them I dont have a cell number.
The sales rep helped me anyway, it was no problem.
Also offered me all the accesories they had (stylus, mem, cases, holsters)
She gave me her name and extension,
and says to call her if I ever need anything more from them.
so it is still available and she seemed eager to sell me stuff,
So you should not have a problem calling verizon, but if you are having problem ordering it,
PM me and I will give you her extension, as I don't want it to get spammed.

EDIT:
I also posted elsewhere about extendid batteries.
I purchased Samsung 1650ma battery from overseas, for my Brother's EPic
because from my experience and research,
no matter what name brand a battery is,
NOTHING BEATS A STOCK COMPANY NAME BRAND BATTERY!!
So HTC, Samsung, etc. batteries will outperform ANY third party name brands of similar Ma rating.

The other alternative is the super cheapo China batteries.
Ebay had plenty of compatible EVO batteries.
So you may have to get extendid case separately.
Also, if you get the wrong extendid case (GSM) you can just snip the bottom opening wider, for CDMA units.
The battery price is good but the problem is that their charging circuitry is erractic at first,
because they actually stack 2 cheapo batteries in parallel inside one housing..
