Touch Pro 2 SoD Ribbon Rip

I've had my touch pro 2 since about the time it came out on the sprint network. I've put various custom roms on it, the most recent being one of the Energy roms (probably from February). Well a few months ago I cracked the digitizer, and me being an idiot, I thought it was the LCD so I ordered the LCD took the phone apart, and lo and behold it was digitizer, so I put the whole phone back together (with the cracked digitizer) and everything worked fine til now.

The other day I finally cracked the LCD, but luckily I had the replacement already, so I took the phone apart again, but me being a tad angry and unfocused led to me ripping part of the flex cable in the phone (near the earpiece). Its not completely apart, but definitely ripped, and since then the phone will not wake up from sleep. I tried task 29ing it and then flashing an updated energy rom, but still the same issue. I think the screen may still be working because I've apparently texted and called some people since (without my knowing). I just wanted to make sure that a rip in this area could lead to SoD issue like this before I buy the replacement part. Thanks!
