Its not completely apart, but definitely ripped, and since then the phone will not wake up from sleep. I tried task 29ing it and then flashing an updated energy rom, but still the same issue. I think the screen may still be working because I've apparently texted and called some people since (without my knowing). I just wanted to make sure that a rip in this area could lead to SoD issue like this before I buy the replacement part. Thanks!

Would look on eBay... last time I looked they were pretty cheap.

BTW Is function 29 a reference to the Destroy function in Daniel Suarez's book Daemon.
