TP2 OS on Arrive?

Is it possible to have the TP2 operating system (WM6.5) on the HTC Arrive (W7)? Maybe theres a way to flash or something. Help. I dont wanna lose my TP2 or my plan but i'd like a hardware up grade.

Simple answer is a resounding NO.

Slightly longer answer directs you to lookin into the WP7 bootloader and the limitations it imposes on modifying OS files, in addition to reading up on ESN's and the legality of modifying ESN's (for your purpose of upgrading the h/w without activating a new phone).

there is alot of interest on this topic due to the fact that it has been asked a few times before in a couple other threads and unfortunately the answer is,always has been and will always be no. what u can do however is a complete operation,get a tp2 and an arrive and swap the processor,RAM,and screen from it then put it on the tp2. ull get to keep ur phone and plan that way.

with that said once mango hits there won't be any need to even want this and from what I've been reading on wpcentral, and wmpoweruser mango is slated to kick ass.

Whats your problem eric?? You walk around here like you own the place or something, when in all actuality you're on the verge of a permanent ban!! Are members not allowed to have their own personal opinions with having you continually bash them when you disagree. I for one agree with op and wish there was a way to make this happen and I'm sure many others do too!!..as for you saying there won't be any need or want, it's YOU'RE OWN opinion!! I find it funny that you referenced 2 windows phone based sites to say its slated to "kick ass"..i guess talking down their update would get lots of people to want to jump on board

but by the time mango hits the next version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich) will be out, bringing dual core support and a lot more. Microsoft's got years of catching up to do and there currently moving at a snails pace.

you know I could ask you the same thing. I didn't bash him at all, all I did was just hint that if he had done a search he would've found at least 3 threads that contained his answer. and I do recall you recently bashing someone because he kept posting threads asking for cabs without visiting the favorite cabs thread. just because I found it on windows phone based sites doesn't mean its invalid. its better than those Paul thurott attitude charged sites that many members of this site go to since they seem to be out of the know as to what is coming in mango which I will explain below in the next reply.

who cares about dual core? Android phones seem to be all about specs and not bringing any actual new functionality and innovation to the table. no one knows for sure what all is known in mango but what is known so far is pretty kick ass. here's some of what's to come:
-multitasking
-mobile version of the best desktop browser out right now
-bing audio which is similar to shazam
-bing vision (built in barcode scanner)
-built in Skype,windows live IM,Facebook chat and AIM support
-tethering (via WiFi )

as said before these are just some, there were more that were leaked and there are still much more to be announced at the mango event el proximo martes.

umm..Android brings in new functionality every single release..specs add to take better advantage of said functionality...all the things you mentioned for Mango already exist on Android in some shape or form...

You didn't bash him..could the font size of "hell no!!" get any bigger? and where's this hint of 3 threads..you said, and I quote "what another absurd thread. this has been asked numerous times around these parts". No mention of threads already being available.

I never bashed jcthelight in his total commander thread. He stated that he didn't see it and I was simply pointing it out to him. I'd like for you or anyone to point out where i bashed him?..here's the link
