I've read that android can't see ad-hoc networks, which is what HTC Wifi Sharing creates. A suggestion would be to run Android off of your SD card on your TP2, and then you should have no problem tethering the Incredible to your TP2.

I've heard of some getting it to work by using a modified wpa_supplicant on their device. Not sure if it'll help but here's where I found the info Android Ad-hoc support hack/wpa_supplicant - xda-developers
