Re: Moving from a Touch Pro 2 to an Android

The cloud is where everything is going. I embrace technology... That is why I use my ATM at the market and don't write a check. That is why I purchase things online using my ATM and PayPal. Technology is moving onward and if you don't adapt... You'll be left behind.
Because you don't like cloudbased computing or cloudbased storage doesn't mean that Microsoft and Android (Google) and possibly Apple aren't going in that very direction. Yeah... you can avoid it... My father in law woould rather drive to the bank and make a deposit in person with a teller than get direct deposit. He still writes checks and he leaves the ATM in the safe at home.

It's easy to have a cavalier attitude about this until you become a victim. Pray you never have your identity stolen. You will quickly discover that while it is easy to spread your information, getting it and your life back from an identity thief takes and excruciatingly long time.

Re: Moving from a Touch Pro 2 to an Android

I had my identity sold by my old mortgage company... Never did have much of a problem... I have however lost my wallett a couple of times in my lifetime. I've also been picpocketed once in LA as a kid (I had just cashed my check and they took it all) I have also witnessed several purse snatchings. I have not had a problem with my data on the cloud nor have I had money taken out of my account. Call me lucky on line I guess. I just refuse to live my life paranoid about what MAY happen. If that was the case I would just stay home... You know... It's dangerous to drive?
It's also dangerous to express your opinion on forums without the possibility of someone getting offended or someone calling you names. You should know... I've witnessed that too.

You can transfer things out of PIM Backup 2.8 via Sms Backup & Android Restore...its an old app but it works...

essentially all a PIM backup is a zip file with text/csv files and etc in it...
