I've got peeks over 3mb/s many times (375KB/s)... can usually avg around 2.5 (often just under 300KB/s) off rush hour... and yes, that's 3G!! (and yes, can back that up also) *edit* Sprint to Throttle Data"Sprint on the other hand is not ready to lose any customers after such a decision so instead of canceling the unlimited data plans they’re going to simply throttle it. In other words once you reach a certain traffic limit, which remains unknown for now, you’ll either have to pay for using the same speed when browsing the web on the go or you’ll have to settle for crappy web surfing speeds.

Re: Sprint Letter - "UNUSUALLY HIGH DATA USAGE"
he is not even slightly off. it depends on where you are. in some places I get ASTONISHING speeds with my TP2 and in some places even with good signal (say at the campground down near avalon nj) if I can MAINTAIN a connection at all (working connection) and get more than 10kbps I am impressed almost useless but enough to check gmail etc..
just depends on where you are ![]() |

Re: Sprint Letter - "UNUSUALLY HIGH DATA USAGE"
Since we're talking bandwidth. I don't know what my November was. Probably just as much. Comcast hates me!
Got Netflix in October, and coincidentally the PS3 was hacked around that time so I'm sure there's an additional relationship there. I have a Boost phone for the 35cents data for my car but I don't abuse it. I send out my e-mails and do tasks related to my job that are necessary. I doubt I'd go over the 5gb cap. Some days I don't even use the data.

tethering speeds, depending on the time of day, is at least 100kbps. not sure where this info is coming from. but 3g is surprisingly faster than you would think. in the middle of the night i can get up to 300 - 350kbps. sometimes xbox live runs better off my tethered phone than my roomates clear 4g modem, until i get a text message or something lol. i've never received a letter from sprint though either, been tethering since i got this phone, so a little over a year now and i have some rather high usage as well (usually averaging 30gb/month) Last edited by matchstickredgti; 03-09-2011 at 10:55 PM. |

Confirmed, thanks... many don't believe.. of course you have to be in a good service area not in a dead spot!! lol (use ##debug# to find best spot) BTW: it's 300-350 kBps, (KBPS, etc) I'm sure you know this but some may not so I'll just post it... for others: large B= Bytes small b = bits To simplify this DSL Reports FAQ 8 bits in a byte, if you see "band width" (usually in bits), typically divide by 8 for "DL speeds" (usually in bytes) & vise versa... Also, re. phone calls not interrupting data via tether or wifi... To make phone calls go to voice mail & not interrupt data, simply: start, settings, personal, phone, top right arrow 2x to CDMA Services, DDTM Mode, Get settings button, select on. (one of many ways of getting to this setting) Can someone confirm if this works with text messages also? Never tried it... but am guessing that this setting will delay text message delivery also? Also: anyone else notice loren646 the thread starter has not post again. Where are the requests for "proof" from him? A Sprint employee? I'll start... Hey Loren646: can you get us an image of that supposed letter please? ![]() Last edited by teradog; 03-10-2011 at 01:26 PM. |
