i just bought 1 of those stand alone chargers. mine will only charge when its off and it charges super slow.. and i have many different batteries, i have an evo too. so it was worth it for me

well, all of a sudden my tp2 is doing this

. i hope they can fix it, i don't wanna dance with the sim unlock.

Good lord, what the hell are you guys jamming into your USB ports

I learned my lesson with PDAs a loooong time ago. My phone goes into the same front pocket every time and I NEVER EVER EVER put anything else in that pocket.

i took it to the repair center, they fixed whatever was wrong so whew! didn't want to have to fight with the elite team about my sim unlocker

well in my case it was the charger, I dug out my OE charger and used that and it worked fine. Been using the other charger for almost a year, but I guess it went kaput.

they told me that too...I think they switched the battery because I still used the same charger when I got home. hey, as long as it works

Well I finally got my phone back from HTC... and it still doesn't work. Apparently the $28 is a "triage fee" which is for... nothing? I can't really tell. I guess I'll just get an external charger.

Anyone know if they carry these at a Sprint store, radio shack, or some other brick and mortar store?

I think the standard mini usb cables are just made in such volume now that they vary in size by enough to cause the pins not to contact on some cables after they've been used enough or slightly bent from use.

I can usually find mini usb cables at some of the dollar stores or at some stores that are clearance-ing out old motorola chargers. The dollar store chargers work great, but if I wiggle them to much, eventually tehy lose connection at the plug. I either have to wiggle the cable to the right spot or bend the tip so that it stays snug.

I think part of the problem is that the original charger tip is slightly different and the port on the phone doesn't grip a miniusb as well as a normal mini usb port does.

quite possible bob, as the charger that I had been using for a year and ended up tossing was a Motorolla. The funny thing was that it looked like it was charging.
