Re: Tips for tethering?

I have a TP2 with the standard Sprint WM6.5 ROM. Plugged it into a Dell Mini Netbook running Win 7 Pro via USB. Selection screen on the phone came up and I picked "Internet Sharing - use phone as modem". I hear the phone connect to the netbook and after a few seconds I see the status "Waiting for network" on the phone. Network and Sharing Center shows a new public network fired up, but no access to the internet. So, wasup?

NEVER MIND! I got it...

You need to do the tethering registry edits or install a tethering cab so you use your phone's Sprint data connection instead of the phone as modem service that you have to pay to use by adding it to your plan.

If I were you I would ask your rom chef about it and/or do the reg edits manually.

I'm in Harrisburg, PA; using Wi-Fi Router for various intervals of time and haven't had a connection drop yet.
