Boost rep giving a hard time

I'm trying to get my TP2 switched to boost, but the boost rep keeps telling me that the dec i provided is a non boost phone so he isn't able to activate it. He said he tried but its not letting him. Any ideas getting around this?

deny that its a sprint phone and it won't work if it was previously activated on sprint.

Re: Boost rep giving a hard time

boost is owned by sprint. did you leave sprint with a balance on the account? if so, the balance has to be paid off before you can activate the dec that was on that account

I kept denying its a sprint phone but he tells me that the system is saying that its a sprint phone.

Are you saying that the phone shouldn't been activated to sprint ever?

Previously activated doesn't matter, as long as the ESN is "clean" (no outstanding balance owed to Sprint, not reported as stolen for insurance, etc).

OP: Try calling near closing time (9pm west coast time IIRC). I did mine @ 10:30pm central and it was a breeze, no more than three minutes with the CSR. Insist it's a "Motorola something, you're not sure" and that it says Boost right on it.

Ill give that a try later on. I did play the role with the phone being a motorola and being unsure of the model, but kept insisting that the first 3 digits of a motorola DEC doesn't start off with the one I gave him.

Probably was just that CSR.

Re: Boost rep giving a hard time

Got it switched now. Turns out to be a CSR issue.

Never, ever saw that...

If you got the phone on your account I would suggest doing a hard reset to clear out any old info from the previous owner. That usually solves any odd behavior.

Make sure you have the info (MSL, MSID, etc) to re-program the phone first (you did write it down, right?)
