And i'll also admit that i have accepted that the WinMo platform is dead even before I bought my phone in August..

But this site is still very active, There are alot of good rom's still being cooked up. Maybe nothing much new in the way of features or apps, but with each new rom update, it gets a little more stable, well with a lemon rom here and there sometimes.

We'll see how the WinMo threads do once WinPho7 is released, I think it will still be quite active. WinPho7 won't hit CDMA till 2011, then people are still stuck in contracts so I think WinMo threads will still be active for a good part of 2011. Eventually, they will all die off, and so will old versions of anything..

Re: So.... TP2 a dead platform?

here we go again, its HARDWARE not the OS.but of course a fandroid like u would think its the os. I have no problems at all on this WM6.1 rom I'm running and I may even make my own rom based off of it. I'm not moving on just because a couple of canadians did, who cares? its not the end of the world. only device I'm moving on to is an htc wp7 device with at least 16gb of storage.

Just wait until Oct. 1 when there is a mass migration on Sprint away from the TP2 and onto Android. I would guess a majority of Sprint users on this site have a TP2 and are on some sort of SERO plan. With the introduction of Sprint SERO premium on Oct 1, I would guess that there will be a LOT of movement away from the TP2 and onto either the EVO or the Epic 4g.

I'm thinking my TP2 is going the way of the horse and buggy.
I agree gs, The thing is though.,IMO the keyboard on the tp2 is still the "car" as you put it. There is NO keyboard on the market that could compare to the kick ass keyboard the tp2 has, which is why i have not switched to a different phone yet. when will htc get there head out of there ass and realize that they keyboard kicked major ass!

Wow! Seriously? Those "Couple of Canadians" have contributed one hell of a lot to the world of PPCG...have you built a ROM yet? I know I haven't!
And from what I have heard customizing the ui on WP7 is not gonna happen
. Don't know if I want a phone that I can't customize to my desire.

well put. We all know the people he is referring to and without their roms, support, and presence a PPCG this place would not be the same period!! Heaven forbid they wanted to try something different or had some other reason which is none of our business..... Also, this fandroid and apple fanboy stuff is getting old as well. Is there not better material to describe the mass exodus to other platforms? Could it be MS is the problem? Maybe taking their eye off the ball and letting their supporters down?? I want w7 to be a glowing success because I'm a consumer that likes options. IMO, winmo and the tp2 continue to be a viable option. If you like it, by all means keep it and enjoy it.

Re: So.... TP2 a dead platform?

Dont get me wrong, I loved my TP2. I never needed to overclock and I had a nice clean ROM on it. The memory leak wasnt a hardware issue because it doesnt occur on any other phone that has that hardware.

Not only that with the dawn of winphone7 or whatever, anything with current hardware that is running windows is obsolete.

I was actually against Android because it was total crap for a while and I had windows since 5. So I finally had found my perfect Rom combo and thought I was in the catbird seat. This was until my girlfriend got her Hero which had 2.0. I was amazed by how smooth everything worked with the same processor on a stock rom.

No fanboy here, I just acknowledge good software when I see it. A real fanboy sticks with their crappy software and hardware even though there are better choices out there.

Really??? LMFAO.... you really don't have a clue what they did for this place do you? Not to put down any other chef, and I will give them all credit, but considering you state you may cook your own rom, you've obviously never even attempted what they've accomplished many times over, not just with the TP2 either... take a look at the TP, Diamond, etc and look at what they've done. I don't expect you to bail if any chef leaves this place, but honestly, there's no need to be disrespectful, seriously. Take a look at the thread for the stock ROM's I'm sure you've flashed many times, or the radios, or the MR2 rom for VZW users (keep in mind neither of them were even on VZW, it was done for the users here), the least you can do is show a little respect.
