No sound on HTC touch pro 2 Verizon (can't hear ringtone or spearphone)

When you remove the battery cover (the back of the phone), one of the four screws in the corners of the phone should have a "void" sticker (or some other anti-tampering marker) on it. Is it there? If not, someone may have tried to disassemble the phone and failed. The speaker assembly is the first component to be removed in the dis-assembly process (after the battery). If there is no "void" sticker anywhere, you might (if you are fearless) try to remove the speaker, look it over for damage, then put it back and try the phone again. Just to be sure, you're getting no external sound at all right? IE can't hear mp3's? Only sound through the ear speaker? I guess it's a hardware thing then.

But if it's not, I'm gonna throw out some noob thoughts...
- the incall and system volume are separate, there's a tab for each when you press the volume key. You prolly knew that but just making sure.
- try installing this? It's a volume increase cab for sprint. I see you're on verizon so maybe won't work, might even make it worse... but if you're gonna replace the phone anyway that doesn't matter.

Another thought...

If you're going to send it back anyway, you might try to re-flash using the latest Verizon factory ROM (MR2). I was having hardware problems on a recent warranty exchanged device. As a last resort, I tried flashing to the latest ROM. Now everything is good!

Perhaps your device has a bad flash from the factory?

I had that happen when I installed a version of TCPMP (a media player) though it was random and a reset would fix it for maybe half a day. Uninstalling it fixed it and I just used a different version. Try uninstalling any media type programs to troubleshoot it.

Yes, there is no external sound whatsoever. And yes I adjusting both volumes, the incall and system volume. Thanks
