Poll, windows mobile 6.1, 6.5 or 6.5.x?

I would only go from 6.5 to 6.5.x for a big performance improvement - much better memory management or battery life. I don't understand how anyone can tolerate the buttons on bottom that cut off phrases like "all messages".

[edit: the soft keys on bottom in 6.5.x seem weirdly off center and take up more vertical space than in 6.5 which just a total waste because even moving the big start key to the bottom, the top still takes the same amount of space. I have to admit, the clock in the taskbar is an improvement.]

6.1 seems not as well supported here and I like the 6.5 UI better

Which version of windows mobile do you prefer and why?

pic or it didnt happen lol j/k seriously though, what are you talking about.. i run 6.5.x and have no issues, no lag, no cut off anything at the bottom of the screen..

and i didnt do poll because i like stock 6.5 and custom 6.5.x the same

You never noticed? In the attached two pictures, "all people" is cut off and "contact:" is cut off. The softkeys in the dialer.

What are those garish buttons (along with the bottom start button) doing anyway? except making text cut off and making sure text in the soft keys can't neatly be centered on the bottom.

All right, done some searching and have no idea what 6.5.X is. Anyone have a link to a thread that describes the differences between 6.5 and 6.5.X? I am just running the 6.5 upgrade listed on HTC's site.

6.5.x has the start icon on the bottom and no drop down X program on top right.

6.5 has the start menu on the top with the drop down X program on the top right.

Seriously I like both. So I did not take the poll.

I liked 6.5, simply because I couldn't get used to the start button and other softkeys at the bottom. 6.5.xx is much more finger friendly though.

Now that I've used 6.5.x for a while, I can't see going back to 6.5.
The bigger buttons at the bottom and Only having notifications at the top just make sense for one-handed use.

- There is no doubt that a 6.5 SYS like 21889 is faster than anything else.
- The GUI improvements (IMHO) far outway the barely-noticable difference in speed.
- Plus, by this point, 99% of applications work flawlessly. (At least all of the ones I use do).

I also prefer 6.5, I could never get used to the buttons on the bottom on 6.5.x. That and it seems way more sluggish then 6.5.
