Re: Beginner HTC Touch Pro 2 Questions

well, here's the best i could get with photoshop for a transparent

but when i replace the manila file, the file ends up looking like this in the file viewer, and even worse when i load it up on the TF3D. on TF3D i dont think it's completely picking up the white and black outline but i will keep trying hehe. trial and error as you said.

Actually, you can't use MP3 files for alarms and system sounds, only ringtones.

For one, taskbars are not themes. Two, you should not install a GSM taskbar mod to a CDMA phone and vice versa. You really should read up more on this stuff before you really mess things up. I made the same mistake and had to do a hard reset to fix it. Some mods are very specific to not only the version of WinMo you have, but the version of TF3D and sense as well as the type of network. Looks like yours is running Sense 2.5 since you have weather on the home page.

Re: Beginner HTC Touch Pro 2 Questions

i had no idea that my phone was "strictly" CDMA, i was sure that the global mode ensured it worked with both GSM and since i was using the GSM network as i am now..yea i probably did screw up

but im gonna try installing the gfreek's taskbar and see what happens, hopefully that will be one way to uninstall the pegasus theme (tho to be honest, if i cant find a fix and gfreek's theme is too "colorful", then im fine with the empty space/glitched icon).

Re: Beginner HTC Touch Pro 2 Questions

well i just installed it and honestly i liked the other one better (this one will still wont show the correct battery bar/Evdo signal (only 2 bars as well)...

but is it literally the only option left to hard reset just to remove this the Pegasus toolbar?

edit: i tried fooling around with the DLL editor, and i found the icon replacement place...i checked on the 3 icons (160,161,162) that are used to represent the speakers and there's an image of 160, nothing on 161 or 162. what should i start off with to go about changing the icons to hopefully make this toolbar work?

thanks, you've helped me a lot with the verizon thing, just this is left and i think i'll be good!

Re: Beginner HTC Touch Pro 2 Questions

If you know what manila files were replaced by the cab you installed, just delete them. The originals will come back (as they are in ROM and never really deleted or overwritten) and you will be back to normal. The trick is finding out what files were in that cab.

You could try using an app like TMS Uninstaller(free), SKTools, or MemMaid to remove or uninstall what you want to get rid of. You could also try running the cab again for whatever you want to remove and you should see a message that says "The Previous Version of .... will be uninstalled before the newer version will be installed" and then after your device uninstalls the app it will ask where you want the newer version installed and at that point hit the reset button and soft reset.

ive actually decided to live with the theme, i can uninstall it but now my major concern is how i would go about editing the DLL for the speaker icon change. if it cant be done by any means simple or complicated, i'll just live with it but if it can be done then i'd like to know how. then the last thing to do is replace the digitalizer and i'll be done.

Re: Beginner HTC Touch Pro 2 Questions

Try this tutorial.

http://www.techparaiso.com/windows-m...-taskbar-icons

Or the creedo not-so-condensed version:
Get this: http://www.techparaiso.com/members/m...askbarTools.7z

Grab the dll out of your windows folder and onto the PC. In my case it's CDMA_RSSI_PPC.dll . Make a backup copy in case something happens.

Drag'n'drop the dll onto (unsigner.exe) to unsign it so you can edit it. Then open it in resource hacker. Do Actions/Save all Resources, you'll have a bunch of bitmaps. Edit them in photoshop until you have changed them to what you want. Careful to keep them the same size. Then go back to resource hacker, right click each icon resource in the tree on the left (click the green cog thing) and choose replace resource. Replace them one-by-one with the customized bitmaps you edited in photoshop.

Save, extract msigntools.7z into its own folder, double click signer.exe and choose your dll. It'll be signed again.

Copy the dll to your storage card and then move it to windows, overwriting the old dll. Not sure if you need soft reset. That should do it ^^

Re: Beginner HTC Touch Pro 2 Questions

sorry to bump this again, but cant someone just put a cab in for us lazy people who just want to remove the Verizon logo? It seems that a lot of people ask for it, but no one has done it. And will this work if your running 6.5?
