Re: [RESOLVED] Using a HTC Touch Pro2 on AT&T GoPhone (prepaid) Network?
You can sim unlock and flash the special radio to be able to use us gsm carriers. For more info go to the TP2 upgrades forum and look in the stickies.

Re: [RESOLVED] Using a HTC Touch Pro2 on AT&T GoPhone (prepaid) Network?
thanks for the replies. i'm not looking to use my tmobile sim card in my sprint phone while i'm in the US, but to use the tmobile "data" plan while i'm in china. will it still not work because it's a US carrier? or just not in the US? thanks again!!

Re: [RESOLVED] Using a HTC Touch Pro2 on AT&T GoPhone (prepaid) Network?
you can do what wesscoggin said about sim unlocking and flashing special radio for US carrier use...or you can try when you get to china to see if your data plan works.

Re: [RESOLVED] Using a HTC Touch Pro2 on AT&T GoPhone (prepaid) Network?
i hoping to get this info before i get to china, because the answer will determine IF i buy the phone or not. right now i just have the original htc touch, so no sim card.
once again, is it really US carrier use (internationally)? or just US carrier use in the US? |

Re: [RESOLVED] Using a HTC Touch Pro2 on AT&T GoPhone (prepaid) Network?
my father in law had a verizon TP2 that I sim unlocked. He put his Att sim card in when he went to Canada. It worked there. As for China, I have no idea.

Re: [RESOLVED] Using a HTC Touch Pro2 on AT&T GoPhone (prepaid) Network?
i would think that it would work since you tmobile sim card will be picking up network signal from whatever network they partner with for roaming. so in essence, you won't be on the tmobile network even though you're using their sim card.
