flash back to stock rom to exchange phone?

Hi there. I know this question mush have been answered on these forums somewhere and maybe I'm a fool (very likely) but I've searched around and can't find my answer. So before I begin I want to apologize for a question that has already been answered.

I have a TP2 with Mr. X Rom. Since yesterday my headphone icon is stuck on and after searching the forums (and finding the answers!) I think I am going to have to call Verizon to get a new phone. I've tried all the suggestions that people have said worked for them to fix the headphone jack, and it still comes back.

What I want to know is if I need to flash back to stock before I bring the phone back to Verizon?

Thanks!

Yes, flashing back to stock would be a good idea before sending it back.

as Wesley said, definitely flash back to stock. but you should flash back to stock to see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't, then relock the phone and get a free warranty replacement.

I'm sure you've already tried, but have you tried a soft reset with the headphones out?

Yes, you HAVE TO flash back to stock. If you send it in and it is hacked, they will tell you that you are S.O.L

Flashing a ROM is an instant void on your contract.

ALWAYS make sure to flash to stock AND ALSO Relock the device (If needs be, their are PLENTY of tutorials on how to do so)

Re: flash back to stock rom to exchange phone?

I did try the soft reset with headphones in and out, I tried plugging and unplugging the headphones about a hundred times and a few times it worked for about 5 seconds before reoccurring. I dug around in there with a paper clip like someone else suggested...I'm going to try a hard reset before I flash the stock rom just to check, but I'm pretty sure it's a hardware related issue.

Thanks a lot everyone!
