Yes that was a SIM card that the rep put into your phone, you see the Touch Pro 2 is a World Phone. It has both CDMA and GSM capability, but the GSM portion is locked, IN the US, when you're outside of the country you can purchase a prepaid SIM card in another country and put it in your TP2 and it would work. So basically what that Sprint rep put in your phone was a Sprint International SIM card, so if you leave the country your Sprint phone will still work, with the same number I believe, but the rates are very high.

You can unlock the GSM portion of this phone so that you could use another carriers SIM card in this phone. But if you just plan on using it on Sprint you don't need to do this. I hope this answers your question.
