Re: help me fix my phone problems with a new rom plz

Here is my favorite ROM.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...07541&page=116

Here is what I'm using now.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=123011

They're both good roms, with nice eye candy. Also, concerning Task29, I've never used it, nor needed to yet. It's only for when you flash a numerous amount of roms a weeks, or just flash a bunch period.(Not necessarily that example.) (It's recommended to be used when experiencing abnormal glitches.) I personally just "flash dance" (Go back to sprint, hard reset, flash back to custom rom of choice.)
Off note, it is always recommended to hard reset or "clear storage" in the settings>system menu. After you flash a rom, before you start installing and customizing..

Sorry if I repeated anything someone else said. I didn't read more then the first page. :P

It's recommended to either flash back to stock or do a Task29 before flashing to a new ROM. Either of these will help clear out old bits of the previous ROM.

flashing task29 is much faster than flashing back to stock before flashing a new ROM.

Re: help me fix my phone problems with a new rom plz

ahh need help. haha. i tried to do it the task29 way. after i run task 29, i get the black screen with touchpro2 in white, then i took the battery off and pressed the power and down key vol. while installing the battery again. so i got into the boot screen, it says usb at the bottom, the question, what do i do know, i cant see the phone connected to active sinc, or window mobile device center, not even in my computer either, it does show that i have a safely remove hardware on the right bottom corner of my computer. i already restarted my computer, and took the battery off and got back in the bootloader screen but dont know how to install the rom after that. im trying to install an energyrom.
thx

Re: help me fix my phone problems with a new rom plz

So pretty much after you flashed task29, you will get the boot screen with the different color and the USB at the bottom. Now before we continue, make sure you extract the ROM that you chose (whether is Mighty, Energy...etc.). So extract the ROM to a folder. Now goes in the folder and double click on "ROMUpdateUtility.exe", then select Update and the name of the ROM will show up. Follow through all the steps then your phone will reboot and the ROM will load up. Remember first time the new ROM boot up, it will take time to load up all the settings. Good luck

basically task29 clears the OS from the device completely. it wouldnt boot up, cuz there nothing to boot. when youre in bootloader, and it says "USB" thats the same as the WMDC connection (or activesync). just start your flash from the bootloader while it says "USB".

Also, you can install custom taskbars without flashing a new ROM. im mobile right now or id post some links for you. search for tsowen taskbars or maybe the DarkNinja taskbar over at XDA.

Re: help me fix my phone problems with a new rom plz

I think most people will agree that strictly based on his long history of fast stable roms with this forum, that mighty is probably the #1 recommended rom out there, and for good reason. I would start there because its easy to flash, everything is organized and it has some nice functionality built in, and it will be a good starting place for you to get your feet wet with modding, and learning windows mobile. That being said, you have several choices. Your two main interfaces to choose from are HTC Sense, which is the same look as the stock rom, and Titanium, which is the windows mobile 6.5 default interface. If you are looking for the fastest rom, titanium is the only way to go because it uses less memory. That being said, im on the latest mightyrom with sense enabled, and i have zero issues running out of memory and im a heavy user (2 batteries per day normally). Another good and fast rom (the fastest ive tried to date on the TP2) is silence rom. That being said, the start menu is much less organized than mighty, so if you are a neat freak like me you will have to do that manually once the rom is loaded.

Most of the chefs have a nice FAQ, detailed installation instructions, and lots of support lined up on the very first page of the rom thread, so as stated above, read, read, and read somore before you flash. Once you get a rom you like and learn a little bit about windows mobile, you will be much happier with the phone. The potential of these devices is amazing, and its sad that the stock rom does not realize the devices potential, but i can tell you from experience, that if you do your research and have patience, you will reach a point where you never want another operating system again. Ive tried to go away from windows mobile so many times when im frustrated, and i keep coming right back because it simply cannot be beat if you want a functional stable device. eye candy is NOT everything.
