Re: So how (un) reliable is this hardware ?

Easy solution to not have to take the battery out, drill a hole in the back cover so you can use the reset button, works like a charm for me. I even drilled a hole in my Bodyglove case so I don't have to take that off ether.

I installed Advanced Config and there is a soft reset option in the menu. I haven't removed my battery cover since.

That won't work if its frozen up.

That's why you need the hole drilled (which works great)

Right. One of the first things I install on any device is Quick Menu and it has the reset option. But it doesn't help when device is stuck in nirvana.

Re: So how (un) reliable is this hardware ?

I guess I'm just not trying hard enough. I haven't had to do a reset because of it locking up. Most of my resets are done after installing cabs and stuff. For the record, I have seen the threads talking about the hole and I thought about doing that. I guess that for now, the software reset is doing good enough for me.

Re: So how (un) reliable is this hardware ?

I noticed the rainbow banding issue last week... oveall I was fairly happy with the phone, it was a lot better than the TP1 I had before it. but the software issues (lock ups, sleep of death) made me move to the evo. honestly, I'm glad I did it, I hadn't realized how frustrating winmo was.
